Indoor Freediver

This course is based on Apnea Academy standards (and is eligible for a certification card upon completion) and is geared for freedivers who are mostly focused on pool apnea or who don’t have access to the open water. It can also be done over the winter and combined with the Outdoor Apnea later to get a Level 1 certificate.

The requirements for passing this course are a static apnea of 1:45, a DYN (dynamic apnea with fins) of 30m and a DNF (dynamic apnea without fins) of 20m.

We will discover physiology, equipment, the aquatic nature of man, we will work with your technique in dynamic apnea, movement in the water, static apnea, safety and protocol for when we are in the water, breathing and cleansing techniques as well as relaxation and preparation for diving.

Please make sure to have water with you to stay hydrated.

Outdoor Freediver

This course is based on Apnea Academy standards (and is eligible for a certification card upon completion) and is geared towards freedivers who have completed the Indoor course and want to complete their education.

To pass this course, you need to do a CWT (constant weight with bifins) dive of minimum -8m.

We will discover the physics of immersion, equalization techniques, the different styles and associated techniques of freediving, safety and prevention, the marine environment, relaxation, breathing and cleansing techniques and management of a diving scenario for the open water.

Apnea Academy Indoor / Outdoor Freediver Course

4 days / 300 euros (for each course)

Theory / Pool session at a 25m pool in Zakynthos town.
Open water session anywhere depending on weather.
